After ushering in a new era of Iowa basketball (1-0) with a 101-69 blowout win over Robert Morris (0-1) at an electric Carver-Hawkeye Arena to secure head coach Ben McCollum a victory in his debut, Hawkeye fans and media members collectively were in awe of the new-look Hawkeyes program.
Offensively, the Hawkeyes were almost unstoppable as senior Bennett Stirtz led the team with 19 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field, 2-for-5 from deep, and 5-for-6 from the charity stripe in 35 minutes played. Following Stirtz in scoring were Tavion Banks with 17, Alvaro Folgueiras with 11, and three others, all tied with 10 points apiece.

While Iowa shot 29-for-47 from the field, the staggering shooting night was aided by a smothering defensive effort that forced 23 turnovers, including 11 steals and 1 block. This defense-to-offense transition eventually led to eight highlight-reel dunks by the Hawkeyes throughout the night.
Up next for Iowa will be a matchup against Western Illinois (0-1) on Nov. 7, from Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Tip-off against the Leathernecks is set for 6 p.m. CT and will be streamed exclusively on B1G+.
