Daytona Beach racer Daniel Dye, just off his first full-time season in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series, has been honored for his off-track efforts in suicide prevention.

Dye received the 2025 Comcast Community Champion of the Year award. He’s the 11th recipient and will receive $60,000 for his organization, Race to Stop Suicide.

“I’m super proud that this mission is getting talked about more — it means a lot to me, to my family, and to our communities,” said Dye, who started the program in 2018 at age 14 after losing a cousin to suicide. “Being named the Comcast Community Champion is a big deal, and the fact that we’re able to raise more awareness is really what it’s all about.

“This isn’t a race you can ever truly win, but we’re doing everything we can to run up front and be leaders in this mission.”

Dye was selected by a panel of Comcast and NASCAR executives, including 2024 Comcast Community Champion Erik Jones. Jones, who drives for Legacy Motor Sport in the Cup Series, was previously honored for his work supporting early cancer screening and detection, reading literacy, and animal welfare.

Dye was among three finalists for the 2025 award. The other two were Jerry Caldwell, president of Bristol Motor Speedway (Speedway Children’s Charities), and former Xfinity Series Director Wayne Auton (The Corner Table, a food distribution organization). The charities for Caldwell and Auton each received $30,000 from Comcast.

Dye, a Father Lopez grad, raced two full seasons in NASCAR’s Truck Series (2023-24) before moving to Xfinity, and returns to the Truck Series next year as part of Dodge’s comeback to NASCAR. He was recently named as one of Kaulig Racing’s five truck racers for the 2026 season.

So far, three drivers have been named for what’s likely to be a five-truck Ram 1500 roster for Kaulig. ARCA champ Brenden “Butterbean” Queen and Cup Series veteran Justin Haley are the other two recently announced.
