A galaxy of Asian stars, including world champions and World Cup winners, will be in action at the 24th Asian Archery Championships 2025 from 9 November to 14 November 2025 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The last edition of the biannual competition was held in 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand.
A couple of medallists from last edition – like Kazakhstan’s 32nd ranked Andrey Tyutyun – return this year to defend their titles while some others aiming to improve the colour of the medals.
Overall, a total of 207 archers from 29 nations are contesting for continental glory across 10 events at the National Stadium, Dhaka.
Host nation Bangladesh will have some of their top names in a team of 16, with Abdur Rahman Ali, who became only the second Bangladeshi archer to win an Asia Cup this summer, leading the charge. Olympian Md Sagor Islam will be another name to watch out for at home.
Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist Nam Suhyeon of Korea is the biggest name in the field in recurve women individual event. This week, Korea field 16 archers which also has Lee Gahyun, who had shocked teammate and Paris 2024 Olympic Lim Sihyeon for the recurve women’s individual gold at the second stage of the 2025 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Shanghai.
World number two and reigning Asian Games champion Jyothi Surekha Vennam from India is among the top names competing in the compound events. With an amazing season so far laced by a historic World Cup Finals individual bronze and World Championships mixed team silver medal, Vennam would be hoping to improve her individual silver in Dhaka.
Seasoned star Deepika Kumari will aim to clinch her first gold of the season after the bronze medal show in the 2025 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Shanghai.
