Duke’s Cameron Boozer starred Saturday with 25 points in his first regular-season game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. His twin brother, Cayden, wasn’t far behind with 14 points off the bench as the Blue Devils coasted to a 95-54 win over Western Carolina in their home opener.
The freshman brothers ranked first and second on the team in scoring.

Cameron and Cayden, sons of two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, chose Duke over Miami last fall as top-20 recruits. They’ve followed in their father’s footsteps to Durham, and Saturday their fingerprints were all over the Blue Devils’ blowout victory.
Cayden, a 6-foot-9 forward who scored 15 points in Duke’s season-opening win over Texas, was a consensus top-three recruit throughout his high school career. He looked the part against Western Carolina, showcasing an inside-out game that will translate to ACC play.
He got Duke on the board with a drive, spin and post score that he added to at the free throw line, completing an and-1 less than two minutes into the game.

Cameron shot 8 of 15 from the floor and notably 4 of 9 from long range. He also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out five assists.
He pocketed some second-chance points, including two on a two-handed dunk in the second half.
Also in the second half, Cayden assisted one of Cameron’s 3s.
The 6-foot-4 guard was making things happen for his teammates from the start, serving an alley-oop to forward Maliq Brown and then pushing the ball up the court to a 3-point-stroking Nikolas Khamenia.
Cameron and Cayden combined to score or assist on Duke’s first 15 points Saturday.
Cayden finished with five assists and seven rebounds to go along with his 14 points. He had scored just two points in 14 minutes of action against Texas in Charlotte during the first Dick Vitale Invitational.
