Heading into a big game against Alabama, the Oklahoma football team moved up two spots to No. 10 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Sooners were off Saturday, taking their final bye before a final run of games at Alabama and then home against Missouri and LSU. A win over the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide would give Oklahoma a prime shot for the College Football Playoff. A loss would all but knock them out of contention.

Alabama, like the rest of the top seven in the poll, didn’t move after a week with limited upsets. Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M and Georgia rounded out the top five, while Oregon and Ole Miss followed. Texas Tech moved up to No. 8, Notre Dame went to No. 9 and Texas jumped three spots into a tie with rival Oklahoma at No. 10.
In the Southeastern Conference, Vanderbilt (No. 14), Tennessee (No. 20) and Missouri (No. 24) cracked the top 25. A clear-cut difference exists between the top half of the SEC and the bottom. No other team in the league picked up even a single vote in the poll.
James Madison and Pittsburgh entered the poll at No. 25 and No. 23, respectively, after Memphis and Iowa dropped out upon defeats. You can see the complete poll below.
