Miranda Alize isn’t holding back anymore after getting slammed online for walking out of AEW Collision alongside Nixon Newell. With AEW reportedly cutting ties with both women, Alize dropped a sharp message on Instagram that speaks volumes—without naming names.
Her post, clearly addressing the backlash from the November 8 walkout, pushes back on the idea that standing up for yourself makes you the problem.
“The moment you start standing up for yourself, everything shifts. Suddenly you’re the problem — not because you’ve changed, but because you’re no longer letting them take advantage of you. They’ll paint you as the villain, but that’s okay because you’re finally choosing yourself. This is where your freedom begins.”
This comes after Nixon Newell explained the situation during a Twitch stream, saying the decision to walk away from the match was made respectfully. The match with Anna Jay and Tay Melo had reportedly been reduced to three minutes, and Newell said they didn’t feel it would be a good look for anyone involved.
“It was all done respectfully. It wasn’t about refusing three minutes — it just wouldn’t have made the match look good. There’s no bad blood. Everyone involved knows the truth. We have receipts, but we won’t show them.”
But Dave Meltzer wasn’t buying it. On Wrestling Observer Radio, he made it clear the backstage reaction told a different story.
“I can tell you that that’s not true. Maybe Tony told them there were no hard feelings, but there were so many people that were like, ‘What a stupid thing to do.’ That’s the one thing I heard over and over.”
Meltzer added that neither Newell nor Alize are under contract, which means they didn’t have the leverage to push back in that situation.
“If you want to do something there, first get over… they had no leverage.”
Meltzer said the locker room viewed their walkout as a mistake. Whether Alize’s latest message was directed at AEW, the fans, or the headlines—it’s clear she’s standing by her decision.
