UFC Fight Night 264: Zach Reese full post-fight interview
UFC Fight Night 264 winner Zach Reese talks to MMA Junkie and other reporters post-fight after his second-round submission of Jackson McVey in Las Vegas.
LAS VEGAS – Zach Reese met the media Saturday after his win over Jackson McVey at UFC Fight Night 264.
Reese (10-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) submitted McVey (6-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) to open the prelims at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Reese found himself in trouble in the first with a cut, and then had to endure a low blow, but rallied in the second for the finish.
Reese took the fight on four days’ notice and came through with his first submission win in the UFC – though he had a tapout win on DWCS to earn his contract. He also got a post-fight bonus award for his effort.
“I’m glad I took the opportunity – it’s stuff like this that excites me,” Reese said at his post-fight news conference. “… Initially, I was a little bummed out with my performance. … But I’m not disappointed that we got to have a little dogfight in there. I really liked it.”
