2027 4-star ATH Myson Johnson-Cook goes off in playoff win

East St. Louis 2027 four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook has been difficult for opposing defenses to bring down. In the Flyers’ 53-14 rout of Glenwood on Saturday, Johnson-Cook showed out in a Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 6A second round playoff game.

The dynamic athlete put up monster numbers as Johnson-Cook rushed for 257 yards on just 11 carries and scored three touchdowns in the victory over the Titans. Up next for East St. Louis is a quarterfinal matchup against Simeon on Saturday for a chance to reach the 6A state semifinals.

Johnson-Cook, who holds a Rivals NIL valuation of $123,000 this junior year, is currently the No. 1 ranked player in all of Illinois and No. 2 nationally as an athlete.

The 2027 star has helped provide another punch on the offensive side of the ball for the Flyers this season, rushing for a total of 830 yards on just 62 carries (13.4 yards per carry) and has scored 13 touchdowns. In 2024, Johnson-Cook rushed for 911 yards on 88 carries (10.4 yards per carry) and scored 14 touchdowns for DeSoto.

Among the schools that have already offered Johnson-Cook are Alabama, Baylor, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, LSU, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M and Tennessee.
