Did South Carolina women’s basketball gain on UConn in poll rankings after 2-0 start?

South Carolina women’s basketball is still No. 2 in the AP Top 25, one place behind UConn and received two first-place votes.

UConn got 30 first-place votes compared to 27 in the preseason poll. South Carolina had four first-place votes in the preseason poll.

The Gamecocks (2-0) went undefeated through their first two games, with a 94-54 win over Grand Canyon on Nov. 3 and a 114-47 win over Bowling Green on Nov. 7.

Coach Dawn Staley’s group hosts Clemson on Nov. 11 (6 p.m. ET, ESPN) before its first road game of the season. South Carolina travels to Los Angeles to play No. 8 Southern Cal on Nov. 15 (9 p.m. ET, FOX).

It’s part of a home-and-home series, that includes a home game against the Trojans next season in Columbia.
