Joel Klatt shifts top 10 college football rankings after insane Week 11

by

Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt released his top 10 rankings after a wild Week 11. He shuffled the top 10 around this week after a major showdown.

The Georgia Bulldogs (8-1) soar to the top five, rising to No. 4 in Klatt’s rankings after their dominant 41-21 win over Mississippi State. Klatt lumped the Oregon Ducks with the Georgia Bulldogs. “They remind me of each other,” said Klatt, “They do a lot of great things…They can win nasty football games, they can win shootouts, they can win on the road… I don’t want to play them in the playoff.” Oregon coach Dan Lanning was a former assistant of Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, so it’s fitting that both teams are described the same way.

The Bulldogs have some new companies from the SEC in Klatt’s rankings. The Texas Longhorns rise up to the No. 10 spot due to their impressive run since their upset loss vs. the Florida Gators. They have impressive wins vs. the No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners and No. 14 Vanderbilt Commodires. Their matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs could be a game for the ages.

The Longhorns replace the BYU Cougars, who lost a key Big 12 game at Texas Tech. The Red Raiders dominated the Cougars 29-7, and as a result, they become the only Big 12 team in the rankings, rising up to the No. 7 spot. Overall, there are five teams from the SEC, three teams in the Big Ten, one Big 12 team, and one independent (Notre Dame) and no ACC teams in Klatt’s rankings.
