You never know what can happen in NXT, and this week’s episode ended with a big bang. Oba Femi hasn’t been seen in a bit, but he always makes an impression. Now, he’s Ricky Saints’ problem.
The November 11 episode of NXT brought a few good reasons to tune in. The NXT Title isn’t defended every week, especially in such a dangerous matchup.
Ricky Saints defended the NXT Title once again against Trick Williams. This time they battled in a last man standing match. This match had a big fight feel, and it was no holds barred, so weapons got involved as well.
This match stretched through a commercial break, as both men waffled each other with weapons, like a kendo stick. Then Trick Williams got mouthy, and it fired Ricky Saints up, so he destroyed him with a trash can lid before they cut to their second commercial break of the match.
The two were outside the ring, hammering it out, by the time we came back. Ricky Saints ate a kick to the face, and his lip was busted, but then Trick Williams missed a spear, and he went through the barricade. His head was busted open the hard way in the process. He couldn’t get to his feet, but then he got to the ring and Ricky Saints clobbered him over and over again with a kendo stick.
Trick Williams took about a dozen shots from the chair shots to the back. Then Trick sent Ricky through a chair that was wedged in the corner. Saints crawled around on the ringside area after that, and then Trick leveled him with the ring steps. Ricky Saints entered this match with tape around his ribs, and he sold his injuries, but he still got up.
Trick Williams nailed a Trick Shot at ringside after that and the referee started counting. Williams picked Saints up after that and nailed a Book End on the steel steps before standing on the steps to pin Saints down, but Ricky got back up and pushed Trick off.
Then Ricky Saints went running around the ring, but Trick Williams dodged out of the way, and Saints went through the base of the crows nest. Saints got up and this turned into a slugfest. After that, they fought up the arena, fans cleared out of the way. In the end, Trick Williams was taken down and Saints won the match.
After Ricky Saints retained, he didn’t have any time to celebrate. Oba Femi’s music hit and he came out. The Ruler is back in NXT, and it looks like he’ll be Ricky Saints’ next challenger.
Although Oba Femi has continued to wrestle at several NXT live events, his last major televised appearance took place on September 27, 2025, at WWE NXT No Mercy. On that night, he lost the NXT Championship to Ricky Saints
Next week will start the two-week Gold Rush special from The Theater in Madison Square Garden. Only time will tell what NXT brings to the table, but it should be a massive event. Week one is full of title matches, and multiple companies will have titles on the line during week two of NXT Gold Rush.
