Good morning, BBN!
It was a tough night in Louisville last night as the Louisville Cardinals picked up their first win over the Kentucky Wildcats since the 2020 season. It wasn’t a particularly close one much of the way.

Despite being early in the season, this is the non-conference game that most fans will judge your success on until SEC play. With it being so early this year, it will be hard to do just that (especially if they roll through the rest of conference play). However, the beatdown the Cats took last night will firmly make this staff and this team look in the mirror.
Similar to the Ohio State game last season and Georgetown in the second exhibition game, Pat Kelsey had his squad out-physical the Cats. Mix that in with their hot shooting from deep, and the Cards looked like a top-10 team in the country easily.
So how do we react around the BBN? The biggest reaction has to be around the defense. Yes, the Cards are good, but they dominated UK with their sets and scouting to put the Cats in mismatches or plenty of kick-out threes.
The offense will come along, and you have to love the fight to get back in this one…but the defense got exposed once again.
