Finally, Goggles That Don’t Fog Up. Meet Maritonia’s HydroClear Lenses
For decades, swimmers have treated foggy goggles as inevitable. The routine is familiar: stop on the wall, take your goggles off, wipe, re-set—and hope clarity lasts a few laps. Maritonia was founded to challenge that assumption with a new, durable anti-fog technology.
From Poolside to Product: A Medical Origin
HydroClear began at the edge of a public pool. Founder Claude Deng, a former medical professional with over a decade working with optical medical devices, spent countless evenings supporting his young daughter at practice.
She loved the sport, yet foggy goggles interrupted her flow again and again—she went through more than a dozen goggles in a single year.
In the clinic, Deng worked with precision endoscopes where fogging is simply unacceptable. One poolside question sparked the journey: If medical devices could maintain clear vision under extreme conditions, why couldn’t swim goggles?
Structural Anti-Fog, Not a Coating
Traditional anti-fog goggles rely on surface films that wash away. HydroClear takes a different approach:
Instead of a temporary layer, HydroClear lenses are crafted with ultra-hydrophilic materials built directly into the lens. This means the anti-fog technology is permanent, seamless, and always working.
No coatings, sprays, or wiping needed.
When the lens is wet, water spreads into a uniform transparent film rather than beading into droplets, preserving clear, uninterrupted vision even in humid, high-contact conditions.
Lab-Verified Durability
To make sure HydroClear lenses stood up to intense training, Maritonia put them through both in-house and independent lab testing — including tough, CNAS-certified abrasion tests.
