AEW’s November 12 episode of Dynamite ended with one of the most intense Blood & Guts matches in company history, and the final moment saw something fans never expected—Jon Moxley tapping out.
The Death Riders (Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta and PAC) were in full control for most of the match. They had the numbers early thanks to the Don Callis Family ambushing Mark Briscoe backstage, and even introduced weapons like forks, staple guns, barbed wire, broken glass, and flaming tables into the chaos. From Darby Allin’s insane Coffin Drop off the cage to PAC’s horrifying hanging of Allin over fire-lit tables, the match delivered nonstop destruction.
Despite it all, the tide finally shifted when Briscoe fought his way back into the match. The babyfaces rallied, with Orange Cassidy landing an Orange Punch and Roderick Strong finding his moment to crack Claudio. Then Kyle O’Reilly—bloodied and barely standing—trapped Moxley in an ankle lock and refused to let go.
Moxley tried everything to break free, even countering into his own bulldog choke. But O’Reilly reversed that into a cross arm breaker, then back into another tight ankle lock. Isolated in the ring and with his crew scattered or down, Jon Moxley finally tapped out.
This marks a rare submission loss for Moxley and a massive momentum shift for the AEW roster heading into Full Gear. For O’Reilly, it was a signature win in his AEW run—and a statement of grit and defiance on one of the company’s biggest nights.
