Carlos Alcaraz is through to the semi-final at the ATP Finals in Turin for the second time in the last three years. The Spaniard defeated two rivals and booked a place in the next stage when Alex de Minaur defeated Taylor Fritz in the last round-robin match.
However, Carlos has not finished his job and can not focus on the semi-final. First, he has to beat Lorenzo Musetti in the last match to wrap up the group at the top and avoid Jannik Sinner before the final.
In addition, the 22-year-old will try to beat the Italian and add 200 more ATP points to his tally, which would end the year-end no. 1 battle and keep Sinner behind.

Alcaraz started his ATP Finals campaign with a 7-6, 6-2 victory against Alex de Minaur. They fought hard in the opening set before the Spaniard erased the deficit in the tie break for a massive boost.
World no. 1 dominated the second set and made a winning start. In the second match, the six-time Major champion battled against Taylor Fritz. It was a grueling battle, and the younger player prevailed 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 after nearly three hours.
Carlos had to dig deep to maintain a perfect record, dropping the opener and finding himself in a challenging situation. The Spaniard saved crucial break points in the fifth game of the second set.

He delivered a late break at 6-5 to steal the set and gain a boost. Alcaraz served well in the decider and secured a break in the sixth game. Taylor faced three match points in game eight and saved them to prolong the match.
Still, the El Palmar native sealed the deal with a fine hold at 5-3 that sent him closer to his two main goals this week. If he wins the group, Carlos will face Alexander Zverev or Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semi-final.
Alcaraz will try to embrace his best run at this event after falling to Novak Djokovic in the semi-final two years ago.
