19 minutes and 56 seconds. That’s all it took for Iowa State’s Audi Crooks to break the school’s single-game scoring record on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
The Algona native recorded 43 points during the 18th-ranked Cyclones’ 97-50 win over Valparaiso at Hilton Coliseum. Crooks shot 18 of 23 from the field and went 7 of 9 from the foul line, while also hauling in seven rebounds and dishing out two assists.

“There’s been a lot of really good players here that have played at Iowa State,” Iowa State head coach Bill Fennelly said postgame. “To say you have the school record is pretty impressive.”
Who held the single-game scoring record at Iowa State before Audi Crooks?
From left, former Iowa State star Tonya Burns-Sheehan poses for a picture with current Iowa State star Audi Crooks during a visit to Ames.
The 20-year-old broke the previous record set by Cyclones Hall of Famer Tonya Burns on Jan. 18, 1984, in a loss to Nebraska. Wednesday’s game was Crooks’ ninth time eclipsing 30 points in a game so far as a Cyclone, doing so on seven occasions last season.

Despite standing for more than four decades, Burns’ record has been close to being surpassed multiple times in recent years, as Crooks clocked 40 points against Maryland in March 2024 and current Iowa State guard/forward Addy Brown came up 1 point shy of tying the record with a 41-point performance against Arizona State in March 2025.
Which Iowa State women’s basketball players have scored the most points in a single game?
