After 32 minutes of action at Morristown Thursday, South Decatur and the Lady Yellow Jackets were all square at 35-35. The Lady Cougars outscored Morristown 8-2 in the overtime session to post the 43-37 victory.
South improves to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Mid-Hoosier Conference. Morristown drops to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

The Lady Cougars jumped out to a 10-3 lead after the first quarter. Dalilah Martin had two field goals for four points. Riley Benge added three free throws. Raegan Benge had a bucket and Lilly Murray hit a free throw.
Morristown cut the deficit to 15-11 at the half. Brynklie Ortman’s 3-pointer and a bucket by Taylor Somers rounded out the scoring for South in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Morristown cut the deficit to 25-22. Raegan Benge scored the first five points of the quarter for the Lady Cougars and closed the quarter with a pair of free throws for seven points in the frame. A bucket by Martin and free throw by Riley Benge capped the third quarter for South.
A 13-10 run by Morristown in the fourth quarter had the teams knotted at 35-35 at the end of regulation. Somers tallied seven points in the fourth quarter for the Lady Cougars.

Somers scored another five points in overtime as South pulled away for the 43-37 victory.
For South, Somers led the way with 14 points. Raegan Benge was also in double figures with 13 points. Martin scored six points followed by Riley Benge five, Ortman three and Murray two.
Batesville 50, South Dearborn 15
The Lady Bulldogs picked up win No. 1 on the young season with a 50-15 victory against visiting South Dearborn Thursday.
Batesville improves to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the EIAC. The Lady Knights drop to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the EIAC.
Batesville led 18-2 after the first quarter and 35-8 at the half en route to the big victory.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Molly Gesell tallied 15 points, four assists and four steals. Maggie Jelinek posted a double-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Leah Meyer added six points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Kaylin Kathmann had five points, five assists and five steals. Jersey Trenkamp scored five points. Nora Wiedeman had four points, one assist and one steal. Jolene Dirkhising chipped in with two points, two rebounds and one assist.
The Lady Bulldogs host North Decatur Saturday.
Batesville won the junior varsity contest 18-2.
For Batesville, Kenzi Lacey, Caitlin Raver and Addysin Hughes all had four points. Aubrey Kathmann scored three points. Trenkamp scored two points, and Bella Watson had one point. Kathmann, Trenkamp, Watson and Jolene Dirkhising all had two rebounds. Lacey added a team-high three steals.
