Brady (18-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) enters on a three fight winning streak over Kelvin Gastelum, Gilbert Burns, and Leon Edwards. The submissions of Gastelum and Edwards were bonus-earning finishes. His run against former title challengers and most recently, a former champion, has him on the verge of a potential title shot himself if successful against Morales.
Morales (18-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) puts his undefeated record on the line against one of his toughest tests in the UFC yet. Since entering the promotion in 2021 from Dana White’s Contender Series, Morales has finished four opponents, including back-to-back bonus-earning stoppages of Neil Magny and Gilbert Burns.

Filling out the main card is an interesting matchup between top contender Brady and rising prospect Morales.

Even though Brady arguably has the best claim for a title shot in the division, the Philly native accepted a dangerous fight against largely unproven talent in Morales.
Don’t get me wrong: Morales has beaten some quality veteran names in Gilbert Burns and Neil Magny, but short, first-round finishes over (albeit high-level) gatekeepers in the winter of their careers still doesn’t exactly tell us a lot.
Morales is a huge welterweight who is powerful, hard to control and destined for middleweight. That said, the Ecuadorian still hasn’t shown a semblance of any real process in the octagon, usually relying on openings for big moments.
Despite an early knockout being firmly on the table for Morales, I have to side with the more proven product in Brady to enforce his win conditions and get to his top-level submission grappling.
