About the Panthers: Georgia State is coming off a 14-19 season, which included an 8-10 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. In their last outing, the Panthers were 90-56 losers to Fort Valley State. The team’s leading scorer is sophomore forward Jelani Hamilton (14.7 ppg), the lone returning starter. Another player to keep an eye on is 6-8 sophomore forward Joah Chappelle (13.8 ppg, 8.5 rp), who had 23 points in the Panthers’ last outing.

About the Sun Devils: ASU is coming off a 77-65 loss to No. 19 Gonzaga. Redshirt sophomore Santiago Trouet (9 ppg, 8 rpg) has recorded double-doubles in the last two games. The catalyst of the offense is senior point guard Moe Odum (11.7 ppg, 7 apg), who has 21 assists in three games. Others averaging double figures are 7-foot-1 freshman center Massamba Diop (14.3 ppg, 5 rpg) and Anthony “Pig” Johnson (11.3 ppg). The two problem areas for ASU in the loss to Gonzaga were rebounding and free throws. This will be the last home game for the Sun Devils until Dec. 9.
Injury report: Players who will be out for ASU include junior G Vijay Wallace (out for the season), sophomore G Noah Meeusen, senior G Adante Holiman and freshman F Jovan Icitovic.
