AMES – After cruising through the first week of the season, the Iowa State women’s basketball team rolled through the second without any issues.
The Cyclones and their 5-0 start were rewarded with another ranking in the latest Associated Press poll, checking in at No. 12 on Nov. 17.

Iowa State was previously ranked No. 16 in the poll after opening the season with three wins in the first week. The team is ranked No. 18 in the USA TODAY Coaches poll; the next coaches poll will be released on Nov. 18.
The second week of the season was a big one for the Cyclones and two of their biggest starts. Iowa State beat up on Valparaiso and Norfolk State with two easy wins.
Audi Crooks tallied a single-game school record 43 points in the victory over Valparaiso. Addy Brown secured Iowa State’s first triple-double since 2014 in a win over Norfolk State.

The 5-0 start for the Cyclones is the first since the 2022-23 campaign. That Iowa State team went on to win 22 games, including the Big 12 Conference Tournament.
This Iowa State team has a chance to move up the rankings even more this week. The Cyclones take on in-state rival Drake on Nov. 20 in Des Moines.
