Lady Vols basketball dropped three spots in the Associated Press poll after a narrow win against Belmont.
Tennessee (3-1) was ranked No. 15 in the AP Top 25 on Nov. 17. The Lady Vols were ranked No. 12 in both the AP poll and USA TODAY coaches poll last week after a 2-1 start to the season. They started the season ranked No. 9 in the USA TODAY coaches preseason poll and No. 8 in the AP Top 25 preseason poll.

Tennessee trailed by five points at the beginning of the fourth quarter before coming back to beat Belmont 68-58 on Nov. 13. Talaysia Cooper led UT with 22 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and two assists.
The Lady Vols are back on the road this week with a matchup at MTSU (2-2) at the Murphy Center on Nov. 20 (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+).
Tennessee ended the 2024-25 season ranked No. 16 in the USA TODAY coaches poll and No. 15 in the AP poll after starting Kim Caldwell’s first season at the helm unranked. UT was ranked as high as No. 11 last season, though it never cracked the top 10.
The Lady Vols have been ranked in the AP Top 25 the most of any program since the poll began in 1976. UT has been ranked in 796 of the 887 polls.
