The 2025 women’s college basketball season has two weeks in the books, with plenty of time for the top teams to still figure things out.
Unsurprisingly, defending national champion UConn ― the No. 1 team in last week’s USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll ― is off to a perfect 4-0 start with wins over Loyola-Chicago and Ohio State by a combined 86 points. Sarah Strong had 29 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists vs. the Buckeyes.

No. 2 South Carolina is also off to a perfect 4-0 start, picking up what might be the biggest win of the season so far in a 69-52 victory over No. 10 Southern California on Saturday, Nov. 15. The Gamecocks’ win was powered by a 14-point, 11-rebound performance from Raven Johnson.
No. 3 Texas (4-0), No. 4 UCLA (5-0) and No. 5 LSU (4-0) also all remain undefeated and could be threats to the top two teams down the line as we inch closer to March Madness.
