The third College Football Playoff rankings have been revealed, and there weren’t a ton of surprises.
Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M still lead the way as the top three, but there was a change behind them as Alabama fell from No. 4 to No. 10 after its home loss to Oklahoma. Still, the Tide remain in the projected 12-team field.

No. 9 Notre Dame is also still ranked ahead of No. 13 Miami despite the Hurricanes holding a head-to-head win over the Fighting Irish, and the former is now basically a CFP lock if it wins its final two games against Syracuse and Stanford. Tulane also entered the rankings at No. 24, and the Green Wave are currently projected as the Group of Five’s playoff representative.
Here’s how the 12-team CFP bracket would look if the playoff began Tuesday after the third rankings reveal.
There are still two weeks left in the regular season, and a lot could change before Selection Sunday as we are likely in store for a few more surprises.
