Sol Ruca Blasts Zaria After NXT Gold Rush Towel Throw Controversy

by

WWE NXT Gold Rush ended in chaos for Sol Ruca, but the drama didn’t stop when the cameras cut. After a controversial finish to her match against Blake Monroe, Ruca is now exchanging heat with her on-screen friend Zaria—and she isn’t hiding her frustration.

During the November 18, 2025 tapings at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, Sol Ruca fought through injury to reclaim the NXT Women’s North American Title. She wore a knee brace but still came close to regaining her championship. That was until Zaria, watching from ringside, threw in the towel just as Blake Monroe had Ruca locked in a knee submission.

Backstage footage captured a heated exchange, with Sol telling Zaria: “I was going to beat Blake Monroe.” Zaria stood by her decision, firing back: “You weren’t going to make it to the ropes or tap out. I’m not going to watch you get your leg broken and be out for a year. Am I the bad guy for caring?”

Sol insisted her determination was what made her a champion. Zaria ended the conversation with: “Let’s talk about it later and focus on next week.”

But it didn’t end there. After the clip hit social media, Zaria tried to clear the air by quote-tweeting the video, writing: “eah yeah my bad for caring @SolRucaWWE”—alongside a crying Lisa Simpson GIF.

Sol Ruca’s response? A blunt middle finger emoji with a soaked, very unimpressed cat wrapped in a towel—attached to a post captioned with zero words but volumes of emotion.

Blake Monroe may still hold the gold, but Sol and Zaria’s friendship may be the real casualty of the night.

Do you think Zaria made the right call? Or should she have let Sol Ruca fight to the end? Sound off in the comments and let us know what side you’re on.
