It’s Wednesday, and we are up and running! As we inch closer to game day, we will continue to provide lots of coverage for football season! See what is coming your way today on our site and around the internet.

Chris Vannini is ranking every team, and the first Mountain West team is San Diego State, who comes in at #42. UNLV also breaks into the top 50. Then it’s Fresno State at 53rd, and Boise State & New Mexico at 60th/61st. Hawaii (67th) is the only other team in the top 100, before Utah State at 106th and Air Force at 110th. It’s a drop to Wyoming (116) and San Jose State (117), before Colorado State (127) and Nevada (131) at the bottom. The Mountain West is clearly a conference with some pretty good teams, a few poor teams, and some very bad teams this season.

Bowl games are drawing closer, with projections getting closer. San Diego State stays in the LA Bowl, with UNLV venturing to the Potato Bowl. Hawaii stays in Hawaii, with Boise State going to the First Responder Bowl. In addition to that, Arizona will take Fresno State and the New Mexico Bowl will have New Mexico. We will see how it all shakes out.

Chris Murray really likes Nevada’s starting lineup, especially their frontcourt, but thinks their lack of a bench and shooting woes will be a concern. He thinks the early momentum from the pick-six gave a boost to Nevada that helped them blow out San Jose State. he tackles these topics and more in this week’s edition.
