I’m a firm believer in the “Any Given Saturday” mantra, but with the 10-0 No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies facing the 1-10 Samford Bulldogs, I might have to throw that out the window this week.
There is little doubt that the Aggies will be 11-0 after Saturday, but head coach Mike Elko knows his team can still improve in several areas. The key is for his team to maintain the same standard for every game week, regardless of the opponent. Even though it’s not an SEC matchup, every contest deserves the same level of preparation, and there can be no overlooking any team.

A win this weekend will essentially lock up a College Football Playoff berth, with the final game of the season against Texas serving as the deciding matchup for an SEC title shot for A&M. The Aggies demonstrated last week that they can overcome adversity and execute a game-winning drive when needed.
Hopefully, several players who don’t typically see much playing time will gain meaningful reps in the last regular-season home game at Kyle Field.
