Lady Vols basketball fans will have a chance to celebrate the life and legacy of legendary coach Pat Summitt in December.
Omaha Productions, which was founded by Tennessee football great Peyton Manning, announced Nov. 19 a live event will celebrate Summitt’s life.

The show is called “Celebrating Pat Summit: A live reunion special,” which will be a storytelling event, according to the Omaha Productions post, and it will reunite “legendary former players, coaches and friends to honor Pat Summitt’s extraordinary life and lasting impact.”
The show will be at the Tennessee Theatre on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.
The event will feature “untold stories behind some of the most iconic moments of Summitt’s legendary career,” according to the Tennessee Theatre website. The night will include intimate conversations, video highlights, special surprises and displays of iconic memorabilia.
“This unforgettable event will celebrate Summitt’s fierce competitive spirit and her enduring influence on the game of basketball,” according to the Tennessee Theatre website.

Summitt won eight national championships in 38 seasons as Tennessee coach. She retired in 2012 as the winningest coach in Division I college basketball history with a record of 1,098-208. She changed the trajectory of women’s basketball and played a central role in elevating the popularity of the women’s game.
Summitt was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011 at 59. She coached one more season before stepping down, and she also created the Pat Summitt Foundation, which continues to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. Summitt died on June 28, 2016 at 64.
