Class of 2026 three-star defensive back Jordan Crutchfield has officially flipped his commitment from Kentucky football to Florida State, announcing the change Thursday after a weekend visit to Tallahassee.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound prospect from Vero Beach, Florida, had been committed to the Wildcats since June, just days after taking his official visit to Lexington.

Crutchfield was considered one of Kentucky’s most intriguing long-term defensive additions, who is a physical defensive back with the size to play multiple positions in the secondary. His commitment back in the summer was viewed as a strong early recruiting win for Mark Stoops and the Wildcats’ defensive staff.
However, Florida State’s push in recent weeks, capped by his official visit over the weekend, ultimately shifted the momentum. By Thursday, Crutchfield made it official; he flipped his commitment from Kentucky to Florida State.
For Kentucky, the loss stings not only because of Crutchfield’s upside, but because the Wildcats had invested early and built strong relationships that seemed secure heading into the fall. Still, Kentucky has time to flip some commitments from other schools before the early National Signing Day for football.
