It may be early in the NCAA Women’s Basketball season, but things are about to get a lot tougher for Jan Jensen and the Iowa Women’s Basketball team. The No. 19 Hawkeyes are in Orlando, FL for the WBCA Showcase, where they will play two games. The first is tonight against the No. 7 ranked Baylor Bears, and the second is on Saturday night against Miami.
This is a big opportunity for this young Iowa team: win both and they will probably vault into the top 10. Going 1-1 is ok as long as tonight isn’t a blowout. I think the Hawkeyes can get the win tonight, but it’s going to be a battle. I’m expecting a close game that ideally the Hawkeyes pull away from at the end, but it’s tough to say this early in the season who is and isn’t worthy of their ranking.
