Missing Carlos Alcaraz was going ecstatic during Spain's big Davis Cup comeback win

Carlos Alcaraz may not be able to help Spain at this week's Davis Cup Final 8, but that didn't prevent him from going ecstatic during Spain's big comeback win over the Czech Republic.

After Alcaraz withdrew from this week's event in Bologna, Spain's chances of winning the title took a massive blow and they entered as the underdogs against the Czechs. And after world No. 19 Jakub Mensik defeated Pablo Carreno Busta 7-5 6-4, the Spanish side found themselves on the brink of losing in the quarterfinal.

But then, 36th-ranked Jaume Munar upset world No. 17 Jiri Lehecka 6-3 6-4 to force a deciding clash. There, experienced doubles duo Marcel Granollers and Pedro Martinez clinched a hard-fought 7-6 (8) 7-6 (8) win over Mensik and Tomas Machac to send Spain into the Davis Cup semifinal.

All of that was followed by the top-ranked Spanish tennis player from his home.

"VAMOOOOOOOS!!!!" the six-time Grand Slam champion wrote on X.

Why Alcaraz is skipping the Davis Cup Final 8?

Last Sunday, the world No. 1 injured his hamstring during a match against Jannik Sinner. The MRI didn't bring great news since the 22-year-old was diagnosed with a bone edema in his right hamstring.

“I am very sorry to announce that I will not be able to play with Spain in the Davis Cup. I have swelling in my right hamstring and the medical advice is not to play.  I’ve always said that playing for Spain is the greatest thing there is and I was really looking forward to helping the team fight for the trophy,” Alcaraz announced on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Spain plays against Germany for a place in the Davis Cup final.
