Florida State women’s basketball suffered its second road loss of the season − falling to its in-state rival Florida (5-1), 89-67, on Thursday night Nov. 20 at Exactech Arena in Gainesville.
FSU has now lost two straight games. It’s the Seminoles’ third straight loss against a quality opponent, putting their record at 3-3. The Seminoles were hanging on in the first half as they kept trailing by single digits.

After being down 41-34 heading into the locker room, the Gators dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Seminoles 21-11, and led as high as 23 points in the fourth quarter.
Turnovers played a factor in FSU’s offensive woes.
The Seminoles allowed 25 turnovers, and UF scored 38 points off their turnovers. FSU also had no answer for UF’s sophomore guard Liv McGill as she dropped 27 points, seven rebounds, seven steals, and five assists.
One of the bright notes for the Seminoles was Pania Davis. The junior center nearly had a double-double as she finished the night with a career-best of 19 points and nine rebounds. She also matched her career-high of three blocks.
