LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers non-tendered righty reliever Evan Phillips and right-hander Nick Frasso ahead of Friday’s 2 p.m. PT deadline. Both are free agents.
Phillips, 31, was formerly one of the Dodgers’ most trusted leverage arms. In five seasons with L.A. from 2021-25, Phillips posted a 2.22 ERA with 45 saves in 201 appearances. He made only seven outings in ’25 due to injury, beginning the season on the IL with a right rotator cuff strain. His year came to an end when he underwent Tommy John surgery in June.
Earlier this month, Phillips began a throwing program. He’s expected to return at some point during the 2026 season, likely in the second half. He earned $6.1 million in ’25 and is entering his final year of arbitration.
The Dodgers are expected to seek bullpen help this offseason, as their relief unit was a weakness throughout their successful title defense. They could look to re-sign Phillips, who was one of their best bullpen arms over the past few seasons, to a new deal.
Frasso, 27, has yet to pitch at the Major League level. Once one of the Dodgers’ highest-ranked pitching prospects, the righty missed all of 2024 after having shoulder surgery and showed some rust upon returning to game action in ’25. Frasso posted a 5.49 ERA in 43 appearances (seven starts) with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Once the Minor League season ended, he was placed on the 60-day IL for an undisclosed reason.
The 40-man roster currently has three open spots.
