Mr. Kennedy Wants to “Clear the Air” With Randy Orton After Years of Hatred Over WWE Firing

by

Mr. Kennedy’s time in WWE came to an end back in 2009 and he has blamed both John Cena and Randy Orton for it in the past. However, Kennedy has now made it clear he wants to clear the air with Orton eventually.

While speaking to Championship Sports Blog, Mr. Kennedy was asked if he ever held any animosity towards John Cena or Randy Orton after his WWE firing. He admitted that he hated them for years, but eventually realized that holding onto anger didn’t hurt anyone but himself. Letting go was better than carrying that resentment.

“Oh yeah, for sure. For sure. There were years where I hated those guys. But then one day I realized that me hating them doesn’t do anything. They don’t care. The only person that hurts is me. They always say hating somebody is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.”

Kennedy was then asked about visiting backstage at WWE RAW in 2020 and whether it was for anything other than saying hello. Kennedy explained that he still has friends in the company and simply went to see them.

While there, he ran into Randy Orton. They didn’t talk about their past issues, but they had a 45-minute-long and friendly conversation. Kennedy then made it clear he’d like to sit down and properly clear the air with Orton someday.

“I still have friends who work there. And yeah, I happened to run into Orton. We didn’t talk about the incident, but we had a 45-minute conversation and it was fine. I’d like to sit down with him at some point and just clear the air.”

So it’s clear that the long-standing issue may finally be fading, at least from Kennedy’s side. He’s open to having a real conversation to settle things once and for all. Whether Randy Orton feels the same way is unknown, but Kennedy’s willingness to move on is a big change from how strongly he once felt. So we’ll have to see if they will be able to bury the hatchet properly one day.
