Myktybek Orolbai met the media Saturday after his win over Jack Hermansson at UFC Fight Night 265.

Orolbai (15-2-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) knocked out Hermansson (24-10 MMA, 11-8 UFC) just past the midway mark of the first round on the main card at ABHA Arena in Doha, Qatar. The fight was Hermansson’s move to welterweight from middleweight, and Orolbai moved up from lightweight.

“All my fights are exciting. God willing, I’m a future champion,” Orolbai said in his in-cage interview after the fight. “I’m the most humble fighter, but when the cage closes, I smash.”

Orolbai, who trains at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, Calif., said he would gather with his team to decide whether he’ll stay at welterweight or move back down to lightweight.

But on paper, a recent lightweight knocking out a recent middleweight at a meet-in-the-middle weight class seems like a good sign for Orolbai.

“After this win, we’re going to get together with the coaching staff, we’ll think about it, and in about a month, we’ll make a decision if we’re going to stay here or go back down,” Orolbai said. “
