Caitlin Clark Sends Message to Lexie Hull on Wednesday

by

Caitlin Clark has quickly become the cornerstone of the Indiana Fever. After the franchise selected her No. 1 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, she immediately stepped into the role of franchise centerpiece, elevating the organization on and off the court. Her rookie season delivered historic fan engagement and strong production, and her second year reaffirmed her standing as one of the league’s brightest young stars.

Through two seasons, Clark has solidified her position as the Fever’s engine and one of the WNBA’s most influential players.

Despite her global celebrity, however, teammates and coaches have consistently praised her grounded personality and team-first persona.

Part of that has included forming meaningful relationships inside the locker room, and few have been more visible than her bond with teammate Lexie Hull. The two have regularly expressed appreciation for one another, both publicly and privately, becoming one of the Fever’s most recognizable friendships.

On Wednesday, Clark made another public gesture, reposting a photo of herself and Hull on Instagram and adding the caption, “ily” — widely understood as “I love you.”

Clark’s message comes as Hull’s future with the Fever remains unclear. After the 2025 season, Hull became a free agent and is now weighing her next steps, although all signs seem to point to Indiana bringing her back.

Drafted sixth overall by the Fever in 2022, the 26-year-old delivered one of the strongest seasons of her career in 2025, averaging 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game while playing all 44 regular-season contests. She elevated her play in the postseason, averaging 10.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in eight games during the Fever’s run to the WNBA playoffs semi-final.

Given Hull’s value and her chemistry with Clark – on the floor and in the locker room – that relationship could factor into Indiana’s offseason decisions. As the Fever look to build long-term stability around Clark, retaining trusted pieces like Hull may become a priority.
