Women’s Premier League (WPL) Auction 2026: LIVE Updates

by

The gavel is set to drop in New Delhi today, marking a transformative moment for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) as the 2026 Mega Auction kicks off at 3:30 pm IST.

Unlike the incremental tweaks of past seasons, today promises a total strategic overhaul; with heavyweights like Deepti Sharma and Meg Lanning back in the pool and teams like UP Warriorz sitting on massive purses to rebuild their squads from scratch, the next few hours will define the league’s hierarchy for the coming cycle. It’s no longer just about filling gaps – it’s about building dynasties.

With 277 players registered and only 73 slots available across five franchises, the stakes couldn’t be higher. 50 spots are reserved for Indian cricketers, while 23 are for overseas players.

Players’ pool and available RTMs

India tops the list with 194 registered players, followed by Australia with 23 and England with 22. UP Warriorz, who have retained only Shweta Sehrawat, will enter the auction with the largest remaining purse of INR 14.5 crore. A total of eight RTM cards will be available, four of which belong to the Warriorz.
