Florida State women’s basketball (4-4) returned to its winning ways as it ended its three-game slump by defeating Missouri State (5-2), 85-75, on Friday during the Coconut Hoops tournament at the Alico Arena in Fort Myers, Florida. The win put the Seminoles back to the .500 mark.
FSU shot 43 percent from the field (28 of 65) and 8 3-pointers. Four of FSU’s starters finished in double figures.

Leading the way was sophomore guard Sole Williams, as she dropped 21 points and four rebounds. She shot 5 of 14 from the field and 2 of 5 from behind the arc. Senior guard Sydney Bowles added 14 points. Both Jasmine Shavers and Allie Kubek tied with 10 points.
FSU was off to a fast start in the first quarter when it had an early 22-10 lead and then picked up a 43-34 lead at the half. The Bears crawled their way back in the third quarter, cutting FSU’s lead down to five, 60-55, in the third quarter, but the Seminoles remained in control in the final period.
FSU will return to Alico Arena to take on No. 9 Oklahoma (6-1) in the championship round on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. OU beat Coppin State, 100-46.
