After falling to Stephanie Vaquer in a hard-fought battle for the Women’s World Championship at Petco Park, Nikki addressed her loss in a backstage interview posted to WWE’s official Instagram. Still feeling the sting of defeat, the WWE Hall of Famer didn’t sugarcoat it—but she made one thing clear: this is not the end of her comeback story.
“Of course you want a comment. You know what happened out there? I lost, but let me tell you something — this isn’t the last of Nikki Bella. You got that? It’s not the last.”
It was a heated match fueled by betrayal. Bella had turned on Vaquer weeks prior, attacking her after a title defense and demanding a championship shot. That tension exploded in San Diego—ironically Nikki’s hometown—where she walked into enemy territory despite the zip code.
Despite dominating early on, Bella lost control late in the match. Vaquer took her to the outside and hit a devastating Devil’s Kiss on the announce table, followed by another inside the ring and a picture-perfect corkscrew moonsault to seal the win and retain her title.
