The Georgia Bulldogs have suffered another key decommitment ahead of early signing day. Five-star quarterback recruit Jared Curtis has flipped his commitment from Georgia to the Vanderbilt Commodores the day before he is expected to sign with Vanderbilt.
Curtis, a member of the class of 2026, is the No. 1 rated recruit in the country and the nation’s top quarterback. The talented passer previously decommitted from Georgia in Oct. 2024, but he eventually recommitted to the Bulldogs over Oregon in May.

After Curtis’ decommitment, Georgia has the No. 6 recruiting class in the country. UGA previously had the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class. His decision is a massive blow for the Bulldogs, who are down to 29 commitments in the class of 2026, but none at the quarterback position.
Curtis’ flip to Vanderbilt is not Georgia’s only decommitment ahead of the early signing period. The Bulldogs also lost a commitment from three-star safety recruit Kealan Jones, who flipped to Georgia Tech.
With Curtis’ decommitment, Georgia still has several options for quarterback of the future. In 2026, we expect Georgia starter Gunner Stockton to return. The Dawgs could also return back ups Ryan Puglisi, Ryan Montgomery and Hezekiah Millender.
