Maryland women’s basketball’s Ava McKennie will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season due to a torn ACL.
In the Terps’ last game against Hofstra, the sophomore hit the ground and held her knee after a fast-break, according to Testudo Times reporter Ben Messinger.

The game against Hofstra was McKennie’s best game of the season. In 15 minutes of play, she scored her first two career 3-pointers in addition to recording five rebounds.
The sophomore has been an important piece to Maryland’s success so far. She currently ranks second on the team in field goal percentage at 66.7%.
McKennie joins two of her teammates — Bri McDaniel and Lea Barteleme — on the bench with injuries. One fifth of Maryland women’s basketball is currently injured recovering from a torn ACL.
