New Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy played professionally in his homeland as a defender, beginning his career with four years at SC Toulon in the French fourth tier before spells with amateur and semi-professional clubs over the next decade. Nancy went on to join CF Montreal as part of their Impact Academy in 2011 before being promoted to assistant coach for the first team five years later. When Thierry Henry resigned as head coach of Montreal in March 2021, Nancy was promoted as the replacement.
