North Carolina went on the road and earned a big win over Kentucky on Tuesday night, pulling out a thrilling win in Rupp Arena. The win moved UNC to 7-1 and helped them bounce back after a tough loss against Michigan State on Thanksgiving.

It also gave them their second quad 1 win, helping boost their NCAA Tournament resume early.

With the win, North Carolina also received a bump in the NET rankings, which are updated daily to reflect games in college basketball. UNC shot up 11 spots going from No. 26 to No. 15 in the latest ranking, which was updated on Wednesday morning.

The Tar Heels are 2-1 in quad 1 wins, getting another against Kansas early in the season.

By moving up in the rankings, the Tar Heels are now the third-highest ranked Atlantic Coast Conference team behind only No. 2 Duke and No. 10 Louisville.
