Who Jackson State football added on signing day for 2026 class

Although Jackson State football is still focused on prolonging its 2025 season with a win in the SWAC Champion game, the Tigers turned their attention to 2026 on early signing day.

Jackson State signed six players for the 2026 class on Dec. 3.

Jackson State added players to key position groups that will see their depth get thinner with the departure of this year’s graduating class. The day’s group of signees included two three-star recruits.

Offensive lineman Chad Windham and quarterback Samuel Dunn were the Tigers’ two ranked signees.

At Vigor High School in Alabama, Dunn threw for 3,182 yards and 33 touchdowns on a 65.6% completion rate with 10 interceptions, according to Max Preps. He rushed for an additional 696 yards and 12 touchdowns on 87 carries. Dunn committed to Army on May 19, but he announced his commitment to JSU on Dec. 1.

Windham, from Noxubee County High School in Macon, Mississippi, made his decision to join JSU official after announcing his commitment on Oct. 20.

The other notable name in the Tigers’ signing-day haul is wide receiver Jaden Lockhart. He is the older brother of freshman quarterback Jared Lockhart, who is 5-0 as a starter for JSU this season. Jaden Lockhart last played in 2023 for Division II Johnson C. Smith.
