Indiana basketball freshman Aleksa Ristic makes debut against Minnesota

by

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana basketball got some reinforcements for its Big Ten opener on Wednesday night against Minnesota with freshman guard Aleksa Ristic making his season debut with 13:29 to go in the first half.

Ristic suffered a lower-body injury after the team got back from its overseas tour of Puerto Rico.

The No. 19 Hoosiers started off the season with a seven-man rotation with four players — Nick Dorn, Jason Drake, Josh Harris and Ristic — all sidelined. Dorn made his debut for IU in late November, and now they have Ristic back in the fold.

Risitic was one of the final pieces Indiana coach Darian DeVries added to the roster after taking over. He signed in late July and didn’t arrive on campus until right before the team’s summer trip. He’s one of just three first-year players on the roster.
