A total of 12 championships will be decided in Oklahoma high school football over the next two weekends.

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association conducts its championship contests, which begins on Thursday in Edmond at Chad Richison Stadium on the University of Central Oklahoma campus.

Six championship games, including the three title games in the state’s highest classifications, take place this weekend, with the other six scheduled for the following weekend.
The two title games on Thursday and the first title game on Friday will be 8-man contests. In Thursday’s opener, undefeated Weleetka (13-0) takes on Seiling (11-2) for the Class B-II title, followed by the B-I championship game between Laverne (11-1) and Dewar (11-2).

Friday’s Class C championship game pits undefeated Ryan (12-0) against Medford (11-2). Then the first 11-man championship game kicks off later that day with the 6A-II title game as defending champion Choctaw (9-4) faces Sand Springs (10-2).
On Saturday, two more teams get to defend its respective titles. Midwest City Carl Albert, last season’s 5A champion, brings its 13-0 record against Oklahoma City Bishop McGuinness (12-1), while Bixby (12-0) goes for its fourth straight 6A-I championship as the Spartans take on Owasso (10-2).
Next week, the championship games will be conducted in classes A-I, A-II, 2A-I, 2A-II, 3A and 4A.
