Michigan football made it to Wednesday without losing any of its prized commitments, but that streak was broken on Thursday.
Wednesday morning, the first day of the early signing period, the Wolverines had one pledge, 2026 Mansfield (Tx.) wide receiver Zion Robinson, announce that he was delaying his signing indefinitely. Though the in-state Texas schools looked to be playing a factor, the intel indicated that Stanford was making a big push for the 6-foot-3 pass catcher.

The pendulum swung back and forth in the aftermath, with some saying that Michigan was back in good standing with Robinson, but as time passed, it appeared as if the Cardinal were in a better position. Ultimately, Robinson decided to move on, with the flip being completed by Stanford on Thursday morning.
While losing Robinson stings, the Wolverines are back in the hunt for Cartersville (Ga.) four-star wideout Brady Marchese, who has been committed to Georgia since March. The maize and blue have two wide receivers signed in four-star Travis Johnson (who rebuffed a late push by Virginia Tech) and three-star Jaylen Pile. Michigan may also be in play for Syracuse commit Calvin Russell, who was once the top receiver on the recruiting board.
