And it can’t come soon enough.

Michigan State (8–0) hosts Duke (9–0) in a top-10 showdown at the Breslin Center that promises high-level basketball, elite guard play, and two of the sport’s hottest start-of-season stories.

| Cameron Boozer | 9 | 23.6 | 9.3 | 3.6 | 1.8 | 1.0 | 1.7 |

| Patrick Ngongba II | 9 | 12.6 | 6.4 | 2.4 | 0.4 | 1.6 | 0.4 |

| Isaiah Evans | 9 | 12.6 | 3.3 | 1.8 | 0.4 | 1.3 | 2.2 |

| Caleb Foster | 9 | 8.9 | 3.4 | 3.0 | 0.6 | 0.0 | 1.4 |

| Dame Sarr | 9 | 6.7 | 3.8 | 0.9 | 1.6 | 0.2 | 1.1 |

Michigan State will need every ounce of its Rebounding U identity to hang with Duke’s size and Boozer’s physicality. The Spartans’ nation-leading playmaker Jeremy Fears Jr. continues to set the tone with elite vision and pace — as he goes, the Spartans go.

Jaxon Kohler remains MSU’s interior anchor and, arguably, its most important two-way player. His efficiency inside and beyond the arc (over 40% from deep, along with Fears) will be essential for keeping up with Duke’s high-powered offense.

Vegas Outlook

No spread yet, but sportsbooks lean Duke:

These teams combine to average 167.7 points per game, 28.2 points higher than the posted total. Michigan State has hit 140+ in four games; Duke has cleared it seven times.

Keys to the Game

For Michigan State:

  • Limit turnovers (a major issue vs. Iowa)

  • Win the rebounding battle

  • Hit threes at a 40%+ clip from Fears/Kohler

For Duke:

  • Can they match MSU’s physicality inside?

  • Will Evans, Foster, and Boozer keep the 3-ball hot?

Whichever team wins will likely cement itself as a top-five squad next Monday.

I want to pick Michigan State… but they’re 3–0 against ranked teams this year, and all three times I picked against them. The superstition lives on.

Duke 71

Michigan State 70

Blue Devils win — barely.
