LAS VEGAS – Alexandre Pantoja and Joshua Van locked eyes for the first time since their in-cage staredown in June at Thursday’s UFC 323 pre-fight press conference.
Pantoja (30-5 MMA, 14-3 UFC) takes on arguably his most compelling test as champion in the form of 23-year-old surging contender Van (15-2 MMA, 8-1 UFC), who is eager to prevent the Brazilian from logging a fifth consecutive flyweight title defense when they meet in Saturday’s co-main event at T-Mobile Arena (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN2/ESPN+/Disney+/FX).
The confidence from both sides was evident when they answered questions from media about the fight, then neither backed down when they got in front of each other.
