Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class, featuring 27 ranked commits, all signed their letter of intent during the annual Early Signing Day on Wednesday afternoon, as head coach Mike Elko took some time away from preparing for the Aggies’ first appearance in the College Football Playoff to speak with nearly every member of his talented cycle.
Led by five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington, who is destined to see the field as soon as his 2026 freshman season, Arrington isn’t the only player who could make an immediate impact next season, which isn’t surprising given the size, strength, and speed on both sides of the ball.

On Friday, Mike Elko spoke to TexAgs Co-Owner Billy Liucci and TexAgs LIVE host David Nuno, who asked the second-year head coach to name 2026 commits on offense and defense who could surprise Aggie fans next season.
First, four-star tight end Caleb Tafua, who is also a standout volleyball player, is one of the best athletes in the class and has become one of the top pass-catching tight ends in the high school ranks. Next season, the tight end room will have openings with Nate Boerkircher’s departure, providing Tafua an excellent opportunity to earn early time on the field.
On defense, five-star edge Tristian Givens, who is a surprisingly underrated prospect out of Georgia, possesses elite traits to become a feared pass rusher in his second or third season, but is already built to compete for a rotational spot during his freshman season.
These are just two names out of a handful of incoming freshmen who could easily see the field in 2026.
