It was a tumultuous 72 hours for Buckeye Nation, but it finally happened. The best prospect at wide receiver since, well, Jeremiah Smith, officially signed with Ohio State football, and fans couldn’t be more ecstatic.
After being committed to the Buckeyes for more than two years, Chris Henry Jr. wavered on his pledge when it was announced that Brian Hartline was leaving OSU to become the head coach at USF. Who could blame the kid? Hartline has been the best at developing wide receivers for years now, and on signing day, hours before Henry was set to put pen to paper, the news broke that Hartline would not be coaching in Scarlet and Gray in 2026. It’s understandable why he put a pause on everything, even if it came at the expense of a few restless nights for fans and coaches alike.

Oregon, USC, Texas, and LSU all made a push when it was made known that Henry wasn’t going to sign immediately. But in the long run, the No. 1 recruit at wide out ignored the noise and stayed true to his word. And when that word came on the Pat McAfee show, social media erupted. Let’s take a look at some of the best.
